Hi, I’m Soumitra Dey, the founder of James Long Cafe and Restro a place born out of my lifelong love for food and hospitality.
My journey with food started early, and I followed that passion to IHM Kolkata, where I graduated in 2012. From there, I honed my skills working in renowned five-star hotels and luxury cruise lines, gaining invaluable experience in world-class service and global cuisine.
But my heart always belonged to Kolkata especially to James Long Sarani, where I spent my childhood in a 75-year-old house filled with memories, laughter, and home-cooked meals. That very house now welcomes you as James Long Cafe, blending the charm of heritage with the  energy of modern food culture.
